Artist Bio

Ivano Sabot was born in Rome, Italy.

After graduating, fascinated by artists like Henri Cartier-Bresson and Anton Corbijn, undertakes his photographic studies: a master degree in Integrated Communication and Photography. Immediately after, he started to work for theatre and public events, such as Cave Canem and the International Opera Competition in Rome.

After the sudden death of his father (a prominent figure in his life) he pushed the pause button, completely detaching from the photographic environment.

This pause lasted for a few years, during which he mostly worked on personal and unpublished projects, mainly as a way to cope with the loss.

On a summer afternoon, during a conversation, a quick but powerful vision leads to the birth of the project called " HYMNS": a skillful mix of painting, sculptures made of plaster, clay, polystyrene, digital painting and natural backgrounds all masterfully mixed.

This project gained various acknowledgements like the Fine Art Photography Award, ND Photography Award, International Photographer of the Year Award. Followed by exhibitions in London at the HLS Art Gallery, at Saatchi Art Gallery and publications on L'Oeil de la Photographie and Semioculus.

In his work the artist alternating elements of modernity and classicism, through criticism, try to envision human interactions and modern society; showing an ideal path where the search for happiness is the only purpose of the human existence
